Come outside peak season, and you might have miles of coastline all to yourself.
The tranquil energy here makes it easy to relax, unwind, and feel truly at home.
We are Luisa & Roger
We first met in Palizzi Marina, Calabria, in August 2024, and since then, we've been traveling between Padova and Palizzi Marina.
At times, we organize and take part in various RETAKE events in Sicily, Calabria, as well as Padova and other locations in northern Italy.

In this small town at the southernmost tip of the Italian mainland, we have a dedicated group.
Every summer, we also organize a Summer Camp, welcoming participants from Retake Padova and Retake Roma.
Join us for an unforgettable summer experience in Palizzi, where we combine volunteer work, cultural exchange, and fun!
Accommodation & Daily Routine
We stay for free in a school provided by the Comune di Palizzi. Accommodation includes shared bedrooms or a large common sleeping area.
- Mornings: Volunteer work before lunch
- Afternoons & Evenings: Free time to explore, relax, or join activities
Costs & Responsibilities
- Shared Costs: Breakfast, lunch, and rental cars
- Dinner: Each participant covers their own meal
- Travel: Each person arranges their own transportation
A Unique Cultural Exchange
This year (Summer 2025), our group will be a mix of Italians and Norwegians, creating a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and improve your Italian language skills—all while contributing as a volunteer and gaining valuable experience.

Why Palizzi Marina?
I was drawn to this place, to a quite different way of life, because Calabria, in general, has something no other region has.
More than anything, it is the encounters with the wonderful people that have captivated me. So what could be more natural than starting with the people who quickly became my friends?
What would the town be without the good people who live here?
When people ask me, what is the one thing that makes this place so unique?
I have to answer: The warm and kind people who have become my friends… and who could easily become your friends too.
